Mission Statement: To foster a safe, comfortable and private forum that focuses on people recovering from brain injury.



Group Ground Rules:

* Begin meetings on time
* Listen to one another offering self-expression and emotional support
* Maintain confidentiality, refraining from discussing group content outside the meeting
* Participate in the group discussion/activity to the best of your ability
* Accept one another and refrain from judgment or verbal attacks
* Have FUN!
 
Membership and Participation:

Responsibilities may be carried out by any TBI survivor or family unit that regularly attend meetings. Positions are held for one full year beginning on July 2009- June 2010.



Meeting Facilitator:

Ensures group meetings run smoothly. Reserves location and speakers for monthly meetings. Promotes participation of members. Ensures meetings start and finish on time.



Activity Coordinator: Helps Facilitator arrange activities, such as game night, Christmas Party when a guest speaker is not scheduled. Facilitates the meetings when the Meeting Facilitator is absent.



Newsletter/Minutes:

Records general minutes at each monthly meeting and provides information at the following meeting.



Publicity Director:

Ensures Information has been distributed to local agencies such as the Times, WSPL Radio, Mediacom Cable (Streator and Ottawa @ $8/wk pd by Lori Welch). Orders and Picks up monthly materials from Photo Fast Print in Streator, if needed, and distributed at our monthly meetings.



Internet Web Master:

Updates Web page for the IVTBI



Refreshment Coordinator: Organizes the group to help share in the responsibility to bring refreshments to the meetings by use of a sign up sheet and relay information to Internet Web Master.

 
If you are interested in helping with one of the above duties, please indicate below and return to Lori. If more than one family/member requests to help on any one position, a vote will be held at the June meeting. You may also nominate an individual, family member/unit to a position.

Check this only when you wish to nominate a member. The member will be contacted and asked if they agree to be a nominee for the chosen position, before the June 2009 regular voters meeting. You may use the same sheet to indicate that you are also interested any position.
